Terms of Service
Effective date: October 8, 2026. Using Serifmark means agreeing to these terms; billing rules follow the Pricing page and the Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Serifmark is a cloud rendering engine: Markdown in, professionally typeset PDFs out, delivered via a REST API and a remote MCP server. Documents are delivered through short-lived signed links (10 minutes by default) and physically deleted after expiry — download promptly.
2. Accounts & credentials
- Sign up with a valid email address and verify it; you are responsible for your password and API keys.
- An API key's plaintext is shown only once at creation; revoke it immediately if it leaks — revocation takes effect instantly.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not resell rendering quota, and do not circumvent rate limits or bot protection.
- Content you render must be lawful and must not infringe the rights of others.
- The service must not be used for categories prohibited by our payment processor.
4. Credits & billing
- 1 Credit = 1 PDF render; buckets are spent in order: free → subscription → pack.
- Free and subscription buckets renew monthly; packs never expire.
- Failed renders cost nothing; when out of credits the API returns
insufficient_credits(HTTP 402).
5. Payments, upgrades & refunds
Subscriptions and packs are settled via Creem (Merchant of Record); receipts are issued by Creem. On downgrade or refund, unused subscription Credits for the month are reclaimed; pack balances are untouched. Where mandatory consumer-protection law applies, it prevails.
6. Availability
The service is provided as-is. Planned maintenance is announced ahead of time when possible; we are not liable for outages caused by force majeure or third-party infrastructure failures.
7. Changes & termination
Capabilities and these terms evolve; material changes are announced on the site. You may stop using the service at any time; we may suspend accounts that seriously violate these terms.
8. Limitation of liability
Except in cases of intent or gross negligence, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees actually paid for the period in question.
